Cool Down in Style
Posted on June 5, 2017 by Laura LuckySo…it happened. It got hot around here. Although we’re definitely glistening (code word for shall we say it: sweating), we say “Bring it on!” because we know of plenty of great ideas to help you stay cool and enjoy the summer months in Scottsdale. Here are a few that we’d suggest!
- Hike in Comfort – That’s right, just because the sun is scorching this time of year shouldn’t mean that you have to abandon your beloved McDowell Mountain Preserve until fall. Take advantage of the guided Full Moon Hikes at Pinnacle Peak Park. A cool, 1.5-mile evening hike is just the remedy for those itching to get outdoors. This summer, the hikes will be held 6/9, 7/9, 8/7 and 9/6.
- Heat up Someone Else’s Kitchen – Grab your bestie and head over to Sur La Table at Kierland Commons for a hands-on, summer-inspired cooking class such as their Tropical Tiki Party, Summer Paella or Cooking Without Heat offerings.
- Hide Out in a Spa – What could be more refreshing than a day of air-conditioned bliss inside one of your favorite North Scottsdale spas? Imagine taking in the Cucumber Quench Body Drench treatment at The Spa at the Boulders or the Moisture Bound Body Wrap including a soothing application of organic aloe vera and prickly pear gel at The Princess’ Well & Being Spa.
- Take a Dunk with a Dolphin – The new Dolphinaris facility lets guests frolic with bottlenose dolphins all while learning more about these popular and intelligent creatures.
- Ice, Ice Baby – Feel the need to transport yourself to some faraway land where the temps are dipping into the chilly 50s? No need to travel far, just get yourself to the Ice Den skating rink. Public skating hours all summer long will have your goosebumps in full force – just what the doctor ordered, right?
- Fore! – For the love of golf, that is. Actually, even non-golfers have a blast at Top Golf’s summer evening program – Top Golf Nights. With a DJ pumping lively sounds, cold drinks at the ready, and misters cooling your personal golfing bay, you know instantly that this isn’t your father’s golf.
- Sometimes it’s a Root Beer Float Kind of Day – Let’s face it – no matter what your day brings you, ice cream is always the answer. We like The Neighborhood Treatery at Grayhawk Plaza because they serve that old favorite, Thrifty Ice Cream! Remember that?!
