Community Connection: Spotlight on Arizona Burn Foundation
Posted on October 11, 2019 by Laura LuckyWHAT THEY DO:
Burn survivors and their families experience trauma that doesn’t end when the immediate medical crisis is over. The Arizona Burn Foundation provides programs that assist survivors, both children and adults, and their loved ones through support programs, prevention advocacy, and education.
The foundation’s assistance is three-fold. Crisis Care offers emergency financial assistance, transportation needs, meals, lodging, and emotional support at the onset of the incident. Recovery Care aids with ongoing medical needs, peer support groups, school re-entry programs, and camps and retreats for all ages. Thrive Services strive to assist survivors in living their best life, even long after the initial medical trauma. The foundation offers survivors opportunities to serve others, develop leadership skills, become an advocate, and experience community support through social gatherings and events.
