Community Connection: Spotlight on The Be Kind People Project
Posted on July 21, 2020 by Laura LuckyWHAT THEY DO:
Scottsdale-based non-profit The Be Kind People Project seeks to educate young minds on the importance of equality and acceptance and teaches children to treat others with kindness, dignity, and respect. Through a variety of programming and services, children learn to apply social, emotional, academic, civic, nutrition, leadership, and character skills to their everyday lives. With The Be Kind Pledge, children are helped to understand what to do to show kindness rather than what NOT to do. The #CyberSkills program offers solutions for cyberbullying and teaches respect and safety while online. The Kind Crew travels to schools to perform in interactive assemblies with the intent to establish relationship guidelines and a common code of conduct. The Be Kind Family project uses the principles taught in classrooms with a hands-on activity for opportunities to apply the values at home.
