Community Connection: Spotlight on Feed My Starving Children
Posted on December 12, 2019 by Laura LuckyWHAT THEY DO:
Around the world, hunger causes nearly half the deaths in children under five years old. With a goal to help as many children as they can from dying of starvation, Feed My Starving Children packs non-perishable meals and works with food distribution partners all over the world to supply meals in schools, orphanages, clinics, and feeding programs every day. Financial donations allow the organization to purchase the meals that are developed by nutrition professionals to help children grow and thrive. Next, volunteers hand-pack the meals and then they are shipped to over 70 countries across the globe.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Donate: Offer a one-time donation, sign up for monthly donations, or register for planned giving.
Volunteer: Arizona is one of just four states with a permanent packing facility. Feed My Starving Children makes volunteering fun. Individuals, couples, friends, families, businesses, school or church organizations can all come to the facility for a packing event. There, volunteers don hairnets and gloves and pack thousands of meals in one session.
