Community Connection: Spotlight On Ryan House
Posted on October 12, 2018 by Laura LuckyWHAT THEY DO:
Ryan House provides services at no cost to families with children that are navigating life-limiting or end-of-life journeys. Pediatric respite care is available to give the caregiving family a break from the around-the-clock stress of home care and it creates opportunities for the ill children to spend time with other children in their situation. Their pediatric palliative care aims to alleviate the toll and emotional pain that an illness creates. Certified child life specialists provide activities and opportunities such as art, music, pet and sensory therapies to children facing an illness. Through their partnership with Hospice of the Valley, end-of-life care is provided, and Ryan House offers grief and bereavement support to children, siblings and families.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
AZ Tax Credit – Direct your yearly
allowable tax credit to Ryan House. Tax law allows a dollar-for-dollar tax credit, which benefits the non-profit and can potentially reduce the tax amount you owe.
Donation Drives – Consider hosting a toy or food drive, either as an individual or as a corporation or church group.
Sponsor an Event – Ryan House hosts three signature events a year where 100% of the event proceeds benefit the organization.
Volunteer – The Care Team works directly to meet the needs of the children at Ryan House. Speakers Bureau Volunteers represent Ryan House at community events and Administrative Volunteers aid with necessary office work.
