NORAH’S JOURNEY

Norah Allgaier, a Cave Creek resident, is making an enormous impact. Diagnosed with cerebral palsey at 13 months, Norah is in a wheelchair and is nonverbal. But despite all this, she loves to spend time with friends. Norah’s mom, Brittany Allgaier, was pretty unfamiliar with the disability community, and didn’t know how to address questions Norah’s friends would ask. This inspired a special children’s book, “Norah’s World,” written by a mom of Norah’s friend, Lacee Johnson. Designed to answer these innocent questions,”Norah’s World” explains how children with cerebral palsey are just like any other kid who loves to play, even if it looks a little different.
Norah is a community ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona (UCP) one of the state’s oldest, nonprofit health and human service organizations. She inspires others and works to increase awareness. To purchase “Norah’s World,” visit amazon.com. A portion of the proceeds helps with Norah’s ongoing intensive therapies.
