Refresh & Renew: Easy Ways to “Springerize” Your Home
Posted on February 10, 2020 by Laura LuckyWe love spring, especially in Scottsdale. The weather is pretty much sheer perfection, plants are blooming everywhere, and the overall sense of “fresh” and “new” permeates our daily routines. This always inspires us to give our homes a post-winter freshening up, and we thought we’d share some ideas for easy, inexpensive, and temporary ways to welcome spring into your home too.
Lighten It Up
Switch out your heavy, darker fabrics for light and airy fabrics in florals, breezy patterns or pastels instead. Think throw pillows, accent throws, bedding, table linens, draperies, and more. You may even like the look of crisp, white linen slipcovers for your upholstered furnishings or dining chairs.
Brighten It Up
Not enough can be said for the power of sparkling clean windows. A fresh coat of paint will also do wonders. Want to know a little-known strategy for giving your home a gleaming boost? Dust and clean all your lightbulbs! Lastly, what would a nod to spring be without the addition of fresh flowers and greenery accenting your home? We say go for the gusto here. You pretty much can’t overdo lovely, fresh flowers.
Change It Up
If you’re a fan of decorating for the seasons, you wouldn’t want to completely redo anything as you’ll be changing it out for your cozy fall décor. Here’s where some “temporarily permanent” design inspirations come into play. Consider a room or accent wall covered with removable wallpaper (yes, it’s a thing!) How about changing out your kitchen cabinetry handles and hardware? Or bringing in a fresh new area rug? You can even swap out end tables and accent furnishings with wicker or acrylic pieces.
