What’s your favorite North Scottsdale hike?
Posted on August 8, 2021 by Laura LuckyLaura’s Choice: Tom’s Thumb “If you are up for a workout Tom Thumbs is a challenging and extremely scenic hike. You can go all the way to the Gateway Trail and back giving you 12+ miles under your belt. I have friends that use this as a training mountain for Humphreys Peak or the Grand Canyon. The backside is steep so get ready for those thighs to be on fire!”
Lisa’s Choice: Pinnacle Peak Park “I love hiking Pinnacle Peak because it’s so close to home. Within minutes, I can be hiking. I always feel safe because there’s plenty of hikers around in case I hike alone. From Pinnacle Peak you can view not only the greater Pinnacle Peak area including the golf courses of Troon Country Club, Estancia, and Troon North but also allows for big down valley views of the Phoenix metropolitan area from the Owl’s Rest.”
Matt’s Choice: Granite Mountain Ranch
“I would say Granite Mountain Ranch! They have different ecosystems as you circle the mountain. It’s very biodiverse and has a beautiful scenic vista. I used to be the stewart for that area of the preserve and that’s when I fell in love with it. They’ve opened up new trails I want to explore just north of Granite Mountain. I hope to see you on the trails.
